NY HUT registration creates an ongoing Highway Use Tax account so your qualifying vehicles can operate in New York with a current certificate and decal (sticker).
Core requirements
- Valid USDOT number
- EIN or SSN, plus legal business name
- Accurate vehicle information: VIN, plate, gross weight, axle count, and related fields
- Mailing and business address details as required for the product
Vehicles generally fall under HUT when gross weight exceeds 18,000 pounds alone or with a trailer, subject to state rules on exclusions and exemptions.

Series 25 certificates
